A few interactions recently have really made me think about the huge influence others words and behaviors have on people. There are times when it’s easy to ignore negative energy but sometimes it’s more difficult. Others behavior toward you or opinions about you shouldn’t be seen as a reflection of your self value, but rather a reflection of the relationship this person has with themselves. In other words, if you are truly happy with yourself and your actions in life that is all that matters. Don’t let anyone dull the light within you. I invite you today to listen to what others may have to say but always act in a way that lifts your heart, fills your soul and emanates positivity!
Spring is a time of renewal and new beginnings. Use this time to declutter your life, soul & mind. Breathe in the crisp air. Soak up the warm sun. Start fresh. Take time to be still and reflect on how to accomplish your new beginning. I invite you today to let go of all the stale thoughts and routines you may have & recharge your soul with something new!
Wow, I can not believe 2015 is already coming to a close! This year has been great with a few twists and turns. I’ve come to realize throughout the year that not everyone has the same path in life and that’s okay! Just because you aren’t in a place in your life you thought you might be right now, it doesn’t mean you aren’t right where you’re supposed to be. Most of my friends are currently engaged or married, own a home, & have their careers in order which is so wonderful! But this has made me think more about my life and how I’m still in school, working on my career, and not yet in a place in my life for marriage. It can be tough to see others progressing in their lives when it feels like you’re still in the same place as you were a year ago. However, just because others are in a different chapter than you in their life it doesn’t mean you are any lesser of a person. Embrace your journey and always know that there are many chapters in your life. Turning the page will feel that much better when you have worked your butt off and gained happiness in the process. So today I invite you to not worry about what page in your book of life you are on, but accept where you are in your life and keep working toward your happiness! One of my favorite quotes is “comparison is the thief of joy”. Don’t compare yourself to others and trust the universe has got your back!
May the New Year be filled with positivity & good intention 🙂
In the chaos of life it can be very easy to lose sight of what’s really important. Often stress is conceived from work, friends, family, school, money, & politics in this world which has the power to take over our thoughts. Our thoughts make us who we are and it’s important to not lose sight of our true selves. Even in the midst of all these stresses, always take time to stop and think of what you’re grateful for. There are so many things to be thankful for in life and if you don’t take the time to recognize those things everyday you’ll be smothered by negative thoughts. A negative mind creates a negative self and only you can change your thoughts. I invite you on this wonderful Thanksgiving to not only recognize what you’re thankful for today but everyday of the year! Have gratitude, show gratitude, and give thanks always.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Happy Friday All!
Today I have been thinking about the meaning of rejection. Rejection is probably one of the most difficult things for a human to deal with. It makes us feel inadequate, defeated, or even 2nd best but I’ve been thinking about how rejection doesn’t have to be a negative experience. It’s all about perspective and how you choose to look at the situation. Rejection isn’t supposed to make you feel negative emotions but instead uplift you into the understanding that you’re on the right path. Rejection is actually redirection to something better! Trust in the universe to guide you in the right direction for your life. Have faith that not everything is supposed to work out as planned and that the universe has your back! Life is about going with the flow and accepting what you’re offered. Not everything in life will be pleasant but by having faith you know that each situation is a redirection to a happy life. So I invite you today to look at rejection not as a negative outcome but as a positive shift in your life plan! Every thing works out as it should. Let go of what doesn’t serve your happiness & move forward 🙂
In January of 2013, I started this yoga blog… I can’t believe it was that long ago! I made a decision at that point to practice yoga as often as possible and share my journey with you all. At the time I thought that was the beginning of my yoga journey, but as I sit here today (officially a yoga teacher 😉 ) I realized that there are going to be so many beginnings and so many ends in life but endings aren’t bad. Every new beginning comes from another beginnings end and it’s all part of the journey. The change can be difficult, scary, exciting, stressful but I encourage you to jump right in to that new beginning! I know that my new beginning as a yoga teacher is going to be so much fun, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t also fearful. Success is on the other side of fear and coming out of your comfort zone is the only way to grow. So I invite you today to step out of your comfort zone and trust the magic of new beginnings. It’s all part of your journey, nobody else’s…Accept and embrace it!
This weekend started part 2 of my yoga teacher training journey! I can’t believe I’m half way through already. The first part of the training I learned so much about my own practice, yoga history, philosophy, & alignment… Just to name a few. Now we will be going on to the nerve racking part… Actual teaching! I’m super nervous about this part. It’s tough in the beginning to do something new, especially when other people are involved. However, I’m very excited to jump in and get learning. It’s always easier to start something new once you drop the nerves & just do it! I got a small taste of teaching a couple poses to my other teacher training peers & I can’t wait to do more. Throughout this journey I’ve recognized more that everyone is different & that as a teacher you can’t take to heart any rejection you might feel. Some students may love your style of teaching and some won’t…. But that’s okay! All you can do is be true to yourself and the universe will connect you with some amazing souls. So I invite you today to be true to yourself and your life journey. Don’t feel discouraged if you don’t connect with some people in your life, just recognize that everyone is different. Accept this and let it go! Be you, be true, & always have faith in the universal plan.
